In the United States, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education plays a critical role in maintaining our leadership position in economics and innovation in the global marketplace. In our ever-growing technological world, it seems there are few career paths that don’t in some way utilize skills acquired through STEM classes. By continuing to improve STEM education, we can help secure employment opportunities for future generations.

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, STEM occupations experienced three times the growth of non-STEM jobs over the course of the last ten years. This generates concerns that there will not be enough workers to fill the ever-growing demand for these positions. By nurturing an interest in STEM fields from an early age, we can improve the employability of our future career-seekers.

Utilizing hands-on and immersive curriculum is the key to inspiring our children to pursue these STEM-related fields. It is important that we create lesson plans that are engaging as well as accessible to all students. It can be intimidating curriculum for some students, but luckily, there are a lot of great tools for making it accessible to and fun for everyone.

Below is a list of compelling STEM resources designed for grade levels K-12 to get students fired up about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics!
