Differentiated Instruction-as-a-Service
Transform how and what students learn and how teachers teach using cloud-based services.
Preparing the Next Generation
Digital Transformation is ushering in new types of jobs and skill sets required. Are our students ready for the jobs, and starting to learn and apply those critical skills needed to be successful? Not only must they gain the technical knowledge and experience required, they also must to be effective communicators, collaborate, and without question know how to apply critical thinking as soft skills.
The challenge most school environment have is lacking the modern tools, resources and infrastructure required. Next is simply training and skilling up talented instructors to help facilitate and support the student learning. Now using a basic PC or even Chromebook, students and instructors can easily login to a cloud environment remotely that provides the compute, software (including licensing), tools, resources, content, and curriculum needed to facilitate even the most advanced courses. The basic requirement of the district is good internet connectivity (bandwidth and wired/wireless infrastructure), as well as basic student devices as indicated. With permissions/access granted, students can complete instructor led and facilitated semester long courses using modern infrastructure and methodologies such as Mobile Application Development, 3D Design (and Print), Big Data Analytics, to Artificial Intelligence. These are not "online" student led courses, but classroom learning that will allow them to learn critical skills and learn those important soft skills!
Differentiated Instruction as-a-Service
Students when they login to this service through a modern browser will be provided a complete desktop, workstation, or even "cluster" environment. The student device is sending and receiving "Keyboard, Video, and Mouse" (KVM) to and from the host cloud-based environment. A current modern OS, software, licenses, content, labs are all there and ready to complete the course. Each student is presented their own environment. A facilitator can "reset" that environment back to default at the click of a button! All student login, information, and data will be kept LOCAL or optionally on Google Drive(tm), Microsoft OneDrive(tm) or equivalent. When the student completes the course, they will retain their digital portfolio. All OS, software updates and patches are applied automatically.
The courses are designed as Differentiated Instruction in that each course module provides content and labs at different learning levels from beginner, intermediate, to advanced. More advanced students can be further challenged by expanding on those labs with permission of the instructor. Each student will be challenged at the level of their current knowledge all in the same classroom! Labs can be facilitated as individual and/or group participation. If group assigned, each student can complete a specific part of the labs (course dependent), or work together throughout the project.
Professional Development and Community Support
No experience or background teaching "Mobile Application Development"? No teacher or student knowledge in a modern programming language like Python? No problem! Each course purchased will come with 1-Day of onsite Train-the-Trainer on how to facilitate and execute the course. For every 30 student accesses enrolled, two instructor/facilitators can participate. You also have access to online support and better yet a community of instructors sharing ideas, thoughts, additional labs and more! Whether in a small or large district, you are not alone!
