CoSN (the Consortium for School Networking) recently unveiled the Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) Seal. This seal— co-created with AASA (American Association of School Administrators), the School Superintendents Association, the Association of School Business Officials International, and the Association for Supervision & Curriculum Development—is, in the words of Keith Krueger, CEO of CoSN: “A framework for schools to earn and then demonstrate to the entire education community that they are taking measurable steps to assure digital privacy and security.”
The TLE Seal is an all-encompassing program for school systems that focuses on building a culture of trust and transparency. School systems will have the opportunity to earn the TLE Seal by demonstrating their practices in Leadership, Classroom, Data Security, Business, and Professional Development.
School systems can apply for the TLE Seal beginning May 1, 2016 at: trustedlearning.org. To learn more, please visit: cosn.org/tle.
