July 31, 2006 Utah Audit Analyzes Educational Technology Adequate resources and professional development included as best practices. An audit on best practices in educational technology conducted by Utah Legislative Auditor General finds that while technology deployment and use throughout the state varies by school, technology success depends on interrelated components. These components include access to technology, professional development opportunities for teachers in the use of technology, and on-going technical support.
Other best practices highlighted by the audit include providing stable funding for short- and long-term plans, setting equipment standards, managing computer and printer inventory, and conducting an annual Total Cost of Ownership review. Download the full report here. |
