New Partnership to Offer Online Professional Learning
One-to-One Institute and PODetc have teamed up to deliver graduate level ed tech classes.
One-to-One Institute (OTO), a national non-profit that grew out of Michigan's statewide Freedom to Learn 1:1 initiative, recently announced a partnership with PODetc (Professional Online Development from the Ed Tech Community) to deliver online professional development for teachers. PODetc, a division of the Stephens Group, provides online graduate courses designed to give professional educators the tools they need to utilize technology resources in a classroom setting.
Through a partnership with the University Wisconsin, Green Bay, participants in the online courses will be able to receive graduate level college credit. A second partnership with James Madison University in Virginia will soon provide participants with a second option for acquiring credits. All of the courses are built around the ISTE National Education Technology Standards (NETS) and their Online Teaching Certification complies with the iNACOL standards.
Courses currently being offered include:
- Research and Information Fluency
- Survey of Emerging Technologies
- Introduction to Instructional Technology
- Teaching & Learning in an Online Environment
- Creativity and Innovation in the Classroom
- Tech Literacy 101
