Acer Offers NetBook Trial Over the Summer

Acer recently announced a program that allows schools to “test drive” an Aspire One Netbook for 30 days

K-12 educators who are curious about the features of "netbooks" and what they might offer for education will have the chance, in the coming weeks, to test one out, free of charge. The Acer K-12 Seed Unit Program, runs until September 30, 2009, with an application deadline of August 31.

The Aspire One AOD150-1165 is the model that is being made available to K-12 customers who complete the application and agree to two conference calls – one before the netbook is sent and a second 30 days after it is received.

At the end of the thirty-day trial participants can purchase the one system at a discount or return it at no cost. Each participating school/district is also entered in a drawing for a classroom set of laptops or netbooks.
