February 28, 2006 A Day in the Life of a One-to-One Learning Environment One-to-one initiatives are called to document a day in the life of their programs on March 1. On Wednesday, March 1, 2006, the race is on; one-to-one educational programs have 24 hours to document the any part of their one-to-one learning environment. In this 24-hour journey, the photographers and video-ographers capture images and movies that celebrate the incredible one-to-one learning environments at different schools and in different classrooms. All media formats are encouraged; digital pictures, video, sound files and QuickTime Virtual Reality! With access to schools, classrooms, laboratories, and educational activities across the WORLD, we will create a rich tapestry of a one-to-one learning environment as it is experienced on one day. Laptop, iPod, handhelds, digital equipment and other types of one-to-one programs are encouraged to participate. A website will be created featuring the "Day in the Life" submissions. From mid March through mid April a website will be ready for media submissions. The web addresses will be made available by March 1, 2006. Interested schools will have four weeks to complete the submission process of turning in the media and other information. And each schools will also have the entire month of March in which to process the media. The only requirement is that the media be taken on March 1, 2006. Editing movies, sound files, and other media may be done after that date. The web site will debut at NECC 2006, in San Diego and the site will be live from that point forward.
