One-to-One in Ohio
After more than 10 years, Cincinnati Country Day School´s pioneering one-to-one computing program is still going strong. However, now the computers in use are tablets instead of laptops.
by Tom McHale Technology & Learning, November 15, 2006 Cincinnati Country Day School, a small, private, grade 5-12 institution in Indian Hills, Ohio, began its pioneering laptop program in 1996. In 2006, everyone had completed the transition to tablets. Joe Hofmeister, the school's director of technology, sees the tablets' stylus feature as a way to significantly increase the functionality of computing in an education setting. He also says that their purchased professional development has been disappointing compared to informal show-and-tell among faculty. |
