Intel Honors Eighteen Finalists and Six Winners
With 2007 Schools of Distinction Award The 2007 Intel® Schools of Distinction Awards recognizes schools who demonstrate excellence in implementing innovative, replicable programs supporting positive educational outcomes in the areas of math and science achievement. The vision is to identify learning environments at K-12 schools that promote 21st century learning across the United States that represent the benchmarks laid out by the Partnership for 21st Century Skills in their ICT literacy maps for math and science, and national mathematics and science content standards.. In October, 2007, Intel selected Bergen County Academies in Hackensack New Jersey as the Star Innovator among the six winners of the Intel Schools of Distinction awards. Bergen County Academies earned this special award for the way it integrates mathematics, science, and technology throughout its secondary school curriculum and for its outreach to the community and local companies.
